About Me

I'm a staff archivist at a research institution. I have a single Master's degree, an ordinary old MLIS from a pretty good university. Prior to my current position, my only encounter with an archivist was with a fellow intern. She was archives, I was Special Collections. She tried to explain what an archivist does and it sounded like the most boring existence ever. Paper? Yawn. To make a long story short, let's just say I misunderstood her explanation, or maybe she just wasn't the best explainer.

The title of my blog is adapted from an article titled Within One Cubic Foot that appeared in National Geographic, February 2010.
